Perspiration renders cotton socks moist. Kept inside warm and dark shoes, even if they are a well-ventilated pair, the moist socks provide the perfect environment for fungus growth.
2. Prickly itchy toe is scratched … it must be some kind of irritation or allergy.
Itchiness is taken for granted and a little scratch here and there could cause a cut or two that could serve as the entry point for the microscopic fungus organism.
